Frequently asked questions.
-
Which tablet should I buy?
-
With so many tablets to choose from, it can be hard to pick. Do you want something lightweight like the Alcatel 3T8 or something super-powerful like the iPad Pro 11-inch? It’s also worth thinking about which operating system you want to use – iOS or Android. And what your budget is. Whatever you choose, we’ve got some great tablet deals – go check them out.
-
What can a tablet be used for?
-
Tablets are versatile devices that can be used for loads of different things. From streaming your favourite shows and gaming to taking notes, typing up documents, and drawing.
-
What’s the difference between a laptop and tablet?
-
Laptops, like the Samsung Galaxy Book Go are portable computers with a built-in keyboard with a trackpad. They don’t need a SIM to get online and can connect to Wi-Fi. They have a removable battery and usually have more features than a tablet. And use operating systems like Windows 11.
Tablets, like iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 are lighter and thinner than laptops. They run on mobile operating systems like iOS and Android. And to get online, you need to use Wi-Fi or a Data Only SIM. They’re touch screen and don’t have a built-in keyboard. But you can buy compatible Bluetooth keyboards and keyboard cases for most tablets.
-
Can you use tablets for drawing?
-
Yes. Lots of tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and iPad Pro use a stylus like the S Pen and Apple Pencil respectively. That makes them perfect for drawing, marking up documents, and taking notes. You can even get dedicated drawing apps like Procreate and Adobe Illustrator Draw.
-
Can you use a tablet as a computer?
-
With better performance, battery life, and even 5G connectivity, tablets are becoming more and more powerful. So much so that some people will now choose one over a laptop or computer.
-
Do tablets have a SIM card?
-
Yes. You can buy tablets with Wi-Fi only. But to get the best out of them, we’d recommend picking one up with a Data Only SIM – that way you can get online whenever you like, without having to rely on Wi-Fi.
-
Do tablets use data?
-
Yes. If you’re using your tablet for streaming, downloading, or browsing, it will use data – just like your mobile phone. That’s why we recommend using a Data Only SIM.
-
Can I add a tablet or laptop to my phone contract?
